OPENING SEQUENCES AND SETTING - INTRODUCTION

I've noticed that often in opening sequences they sometimes introduce setting, so I am going to look at two films from different genres to see how filmmakers introduce settings and how this may create meaning and expectations for the audience. 

The films I am going to be looking at are: 

1. 'The Shining' (horror)

2.  'Blade Runner' (Sci Fi)
