OPENING SEQUENCES AND CHARACTERS - INTRODUCTION

I've noticed that often in opening sequences they sometimes introduce characters, so I'm going to look at two films from different genres to see how filmmakers introduce characters and their traits, and how it affects the audience. 

The films I'm going to be looking at are: 

1. 'Dear John' (romance)

2. 'Uglies' (dystopian)
