The fifth and final movie I am going to be looking at is 'Happy Death Day' which is a horror film. 

The film includes the following conventions: 

1. Production company logos/idents 

- Universal 

- BH Productions 

2. Titles 

- Universal Pictures presents - over a black screen 

3. Indication of genre 

- the film company BH Productions is a horror film production company which you can tell from the ident 

- sound - bell ringing, creates fear 

- eerie non-diegetic music 

- iconography around the dorm room 

4. Introduces characters/traits 

- we see the characters in conversation showing their traits and personalities 

5. Introduces setting 

- set in a dorm room, props suggest it is well decorated and lived in 

- college campus, typical of the genre

6. Creates enigma/mystery 

- we can see the protagonist may be troubled, causing the audience to wonder what is going on inside her head
